SEISMICAI Powers Nationwide Central Earthquake Warning System in Balkan

Challenge

The Balkan area is a seismically active region, where frequent earthquakes pose significant
risks. The challenge for SeismicAI and its local partner, a manufacturer of
seismic hardware mechanisms, was to develop a comprehensive Earthquake Early
Warning (EEW) system capable of providing regional alerts across a vast and
diverse area. This system was designed to issue alerts to both citizens and
critical infrastructure, in the absence of a national seismic alert system.

SeismicAI Solution

SeismicAI, in collaboration with a local partner, deployed an extensive network of sensors
across the country. SeismicAI provided its advanced algorithms for regional
seismic alerting. This partnership enabled the creation of a robust and
effective EEW, the first of its kind in the country. The system continuously
monitors seismic activity, providing precise and timely alerts to various
stakeholders, including private citizens and civil organizations. Notably,
SeismicAI’s technology powers the national seismic alert system managed by a
civilian agency, ensuring widespread and reliable earthquake warnings.
